Description:
Our business focus has changed. Right now I wish to open an herbal supplement store here locally in Moses Lake, Wa; selling supplements at low, discount prices. Although I have a web site, I have come to realize, due to the high competition online for this type business, I would be more successful opening a local store. I would need to obtain either a loan or grant that would cover the rental of a store for one year; inventory; setting up shelving; cash register and to pay what was left owing to the state for taxes, when we had to close my husband's division, Leave It To Beavers, wood furniture refinishing [the shop we were renting, the owner decided to let the land go to foreclosure, so we lost the lease on the shop] and for what is owed for advertising [$1,500]. We do have plans to eventually be a diverse business, once again my husband doing his wood furniture refinishing business, etc. However, first and for now, we want to start small, opening an herbal supplement store and making that successful first. We figure we would need $100,000 for this venture, including what is still owed from the past. We are in the process of creating and developing a business plan for this future venture. I was registered as Restoring Life through the State of WA. Once the state is paid, I can reopen that business name again.
We have come to realize in our area there are many crafters and many beaders. With the herbal supplement store, we wish to also have a craft store, starting with having a good inventory of beads, glass beads. The two type of stores in one storefront, will definitely generate a good profitable income.
To start, my husband and I could run the store. Eventually, hopefully within 6 months, we will hire help, thus creating needed employment in our high unemployment area.
$500,000 is what we would need to open our two stores in one. That would enable us to rent a store on a year lease [which usually in our area runs $2,000 a month]. However, if we were able to obtain a higher loan, we would find a building to purchase, which in the long run, would save us money. If we were able to own a building for our business, we could also rent out some of the space to local crafters to display and sell there completed projects.
Currently we are working on developing our business plan. We have taken our local Business Course and graduated from the course. Bye taking the course, we have anytime we need it, available to us business mentors; counselors at our local Community College who will help us in developing our business. Once we have our business plan completed, we will need the funding, through this great network, so we can pay our few business bills left owing when we closed my husband's business, first and then reopen our state business license. Then we would find a store to rent or purchase [depending upon our funding]; start ordering our inventory, setting up our store. We also have a web site, that through, once our store is up and running and making a good profit, I plan to advertise, giving us additional income from the herbal supplement business, Restoring Life. That web site is: (URL removed) [That web site started as a photography site to sell my outdoor photos].
