(URL removed) Executive Summary
Why do we watch so much TV? Why do people buy so many celebrity magazines at the supermarket? Why are shows such as Entourage so popular with males, and Sex and the City so popular with females? One of the main reasons is because people enjoy living vicariously through others. We may not be able to accomplish all of our goals and have these luxurious lifestyles so we enjoy watching others do what we cannot. Having said that, every individual on this planet has had many fascinating experiences that they certainly would like to share with as many people as possible. Just because most will never taste fame and fortune, does not mean that there are people everyday looking for a way to get their 15 minutes of fame.
This is where (URL removed) comes in. With the explosion of the Internet and the popularity of user-generated content and social networking (URL removed) would be a new and exciting member of the Internet community. By allowing people to post their own amazing stories, travels, hookups, photos, videos, accomplishments and feats for others to see every person is letting other live vicariously through them while at the same time having the ability to live through others. The site will also feature the founders of the company, both accomplished writers and educated men, doing interviews and ‘day in the life’ sequences with interesting and accomplished people. Many people have always had a keen interest in knowing what it would actually be like to be someone for a day. We will try to give people that experience and hopefully give them some advice on how to better their own lives. In some cases we will be with business leaders, some cases cowboys and farmers, some days with actors and others with most anyone who we find to be interested and excited in helping us.
Our members, who would pay no membership fees to join to control their own content and view all other members, will also be able to control the actions of the management. Every week we will post a vote to see who the users would want to see us Live Vicariously through or where they want us to go. The site will be catered to the members needs and we will hope to expand and add as many easy to use applications as we can. This website will be filling a niche in the ever expanding Internet community that currently remains unfulfilled. This is a place where we are bringing people together to share their most incredible stories and see other peoples. Byproducts of our services are potentially limitless as well. Although it is not a dating site, or job search site, or even a professional networking site it is possible that all of these can be byproducts of people Living Vicariously.
The opportunity to grant regular people their 15 minutes of fame is something that YouTube and other blogs have shown to have a tremendous power. However we would be taking this concept numerous steps further. Talented writers, actors, directors, musicians, artists and regular people working their 9-5 will all be able to share anything that they want to a large community of all sorts of different people. Our target market is quite literally everyone! Whereas YouTube and other sites will clearly be biased towards major media and established artists our site allows every single person to share in whatever way they want. Videos, pictures, stories and any other method they can think of to communicate to the (URL removed) community are all encouraged. By allowing our members to Live Vicarious through themselves, through others and through us we can make a community that has huge potential for good, for humor and for profit.
