Executive Summary
Business Description: Rewind Telecomm LLC is a digital broadcasting company that has created a series of programming that will become the basis for a niche digital cable television channel called the Classic Hero Network. We are seeking multiple carriage agreements with broadcast providers across the media spectrum that includes cable, satellite and the Internet.
Company Background: Starting out in 1992 as community producers with PCTV channel 21 (Comcast-Pittsburgh), our team has evolved from a consortium of freelance videographers, graphic artists, producers, musicians and disc jockeys doing production as a hobby into a partnership dedicated to offering original programming concepts for substantial, profitable gain. Our programming has garnered multiple awards and a Billboard nomination along with current concepts drawing interest from major production studios such as 20th Century Fox, STARZ, and FX Channel among others.
Products/Services: Broadcast equipment currently in our possession is used to produce original programming and to offer video and audio business (URL removed) CHN channel itself will sport a mix of original programming and syndicated fare along with movies of the genre. An Internet presence will offer downloads and VOD (video-on-demand) services along with tailor-made web broadcasts of original and existing events and programming. Syndication of first run and retro programming will be achieved through contracts with distributors like NBC/Universal and CBS/Paramount.
Technologies: Our digital format allows for us to broadcast through traditional means (television/Internet) and rapidly evolving communications delivery systems (smart phones/ iPads, etc.). A customized digital-fiberoptic broadcast delivery system will allow for 168 hours of uninterrupted programming on a weekly basis programmed 1 week in advance of airing. Affiliations and memberships with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), U.S. Copyright Office, The TV Writers Vault ((URL removed)), Creators Vault ((URL removed)) and The Screen Writers Guild of America (SGA) provides adequate protection for our material without fear of infringement.
Markets: The Classic Hero Network will offer programming geared toward fans of comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television, and related popular arts in print, audio and visual mediums. These fans include males in between the ages of 18 through 49 who have grown up during the 'Silver' age of comics/hero based entertainment. Second is the older 'Golden' age fans from 50 and over. These fans are familiar with pulp magazines and their transition to other mediums like radio broadcasts and comic books as they appear today. Females 40 and under represent a growing demographic of fans with the prominence of the 'female' hero dynamic prevalent since the mid-seventies of the last century. This is a segment that is prime for growth with more and more writers and producers/directors of this genre being women.
Distribution Channels: The multi-regional and multi-cultural nature of CHN allows for us to seek carriage agreements with multiple providers at a reasonable rate like .20 to .25 cents per subscriber. A safe estimate is to seek four agreements in our first year with no less than 10 million subscribers under each agreement. These 'first four' will have to encompass each coast of the continental United States with any agreements beyond covering small to mid-size regions depending on the provider. An expansive Internet marketing scheme along with an easy-to-navigate website will garner interest and additional carriage on a universal level. Ad revenue obtained through the Internet and television 'Upfronts' (an annual ad buyers convention usually held on or about broadcast television 'sweeps' season) will round out the full profitability of the television network in the second and third years.
Competition: Our main competition comes from networks like G4, The Sci-Fy Channel, The HUB, DisneyXD and the Cartoon Networks' 'Adult Swim' programming block. Indirect competition comes from channels like the Discovery Network(s), A&E Channel, TV Land and STARZ Action Channel among others. With our focus on hero culture and lore, our formula is dependent on how well our aggressive marketing strategy does through every ad-based mechanism available.
