ONTHEBOOKS ENTERTAINMENT is a urban publishing company that I founded alongside the release of a Novel that I self published last year. I sold a little over 2,000 copies of the Novel by myself using my website (which brings in approx. 6,000 hits/wk) as my central place of business.
I am getting ready to release my 2nd novel and I know that I could easily sell thousands of copies if I could make the retail price down a bit and stock bookstore shelves. The novel that I am releasing is the first of it's kind, as it will include a soundtrack featuring characters from the book who are musicans. This is a very small company; I have no help, but lots of support from the public and I have established a fan base. I am looking to be able to print in bulk and advertise in certain magazines which appeal to my demographic of readers. Right now I am printing 100 copies at a time for $675. I am looking for funding to print 1,000 at a time, which would save me money per book as my printer discounts for larger orders and more books means more opportunities.
