Description: I started Lone Star Creations, LLC out of a love for the creativity of my Grandfather. When I was a young boy he taught me how to work with wood, leather and metal just to pass the time. While I have always enjoyed working with my hands and finding new ideas to utilize these mediums I did not have the time due to a 15 year career in the military. During my time of service I gained the managerial, logistical skills necessary to run a lean, safe company that has the potential to grow and generate a source of revenue not only for my family but for others as well. Since leaving the military I have found it difficult to return to the civilian work force. I have always had the passion to work for myself and while Lone Star Creations, LLC was my idea the passion to see this company flourish and grow resides in the hearts of my wife, who is a veteran herself, and my children who give me ideas and push me to provide a better life for them. The biggest project I have at this time is a series of functional birdhouses that also double as Americana décor. These birdhouses are each handmade and can be customized per the purchaser’s wishes. They are built of repurposed wood and new cedar, pine and poplar depending on the color we are trying to obtain. The houses can be left unfinished or we can stain them and even weather them. What sets us apart from any other manufacturer of birdhouses is that we use repurposed license plates from across the United States. When a customer orders the birdhouse and they have a set of old plates they would like us to use we accommodate that request. We also use vanity plates for a customer’s favorite sports team or interest. At this time I have very limited inventory to start a steady production and my lead time would be about 14 days due to the fact that I have to provide for my family in a full time capacity with all of that income going towards living expenses. My hope is that I find an investor that will provide enough capital so that I can purchase the necessary inventory and invest in advertising and trade show space. My immediate scope of work would have ability to fulfill orders within 2-3 calendar days and have the product in the customer’s hands within one week. The orders would come from impulse purchases at trade shows, craft fairs and internet sales. During this time I am planning on presenting this item to a national restaurant chain that’s niche is Country/Americana décor and atmosphere for national sales. My ultimate goal is to have Lone Star Creations support my family and to become a designer and manufacture of items anyone would decorate a home either inside or out with.
