The goal of SAG 4 Recovery is to provide equipment and technical support to organizations that provide cycling programs and events to Wounded Warriors and Veterans promoting rehabilitation of Mental and Physical Injuries. This project is motivated by the absence of trained technical staff and equipment needed for successful cycling programs and events across the nation. To achieve this goal, this program will employ veterans with expertise in cycling repair and physical/mental support to event participants. To further achieve this goal, this project will provide equipment to create a successful event environment for organizations promoting cycling as an aid in recovery. Equipment will not be limited to: Bicycle Tools, Fit and Training Equipment, Audio/Visual Equipment, Event Tents-Chairs-Tables, Mobile Kitchen, Mobile Bicycle Shop w/Medical & Office Room, Equipment and People Transport Vehicles, Mobile Bicycle Repair & Instructing labs, Marketing Trailer and Event Safety Equipment.
The anticipated outcomes of this project will enable financial savings to organizations that typically outsource these equipment and support needs at significant cost, thus hindering the ability for organizations to further support the recovery to Wounded Warriors and Veterans. The initial project’s return on investment will be gained through the sales of services to said organizations. In addition, funding will be gained from donations and corporate sponsorships.
The proposed work will provide valuable services. It will provide staff with the skills and experience of former military personnel helping with the need of rehabilitation to Wounded Warriors and Veterans through the life changing experiences of organized cycling events. It will decrease the complications of multiple vendors at organized events ensuring reliable ethics. All will benefit from the presently needed event coordination experience and advance equipment to give an ultimate experience to organizations directly helping Wounded Warriors and Veterans.
