City Roots opened in June of 2007. It's a retail garden center located in the newly rehabilitated Gateway Quarter of Over-the-Rhine; City Roots also provides landscaping services. Our landscaping growth increased from 3 to 72 customers in one year, and the store has had retail sales over $100K to date; additionally, traditional investment ratios have improved 45-150%. We're currently looking to expand inventory, staff and equipment due to the fact that Cincinnati is launching the nation's first Green Roof Initiative; this initiative promises that the shop and service should experience a dramatic increase in business within the next 2 -5 years. City Roots has received highly favorable press and was also noted as one of Cincinnati Magazine's Best of 2007.
