Description: I am looking to start up a drive-thru coffee shop "Java on the Hill" (no seating inside), with very low overhead. Rock Island, Illinois is part of the Quad Cities, which consists of Davenport and Bettendorf, IA and Rock Island and Moline, IL. Total population of the Quad Cities is approx. 250,000 and Rock Island's population is about 40,000. Rock Island is the home of Augustana University, which is a private university, and there are NO coffee shops located anywhere near the university or on the Rock Island "hill". There are 2 other coffee shops in the downtown area (below the hill), but there is nowhere to get a decent cup of coffee above the hill. Most people drive through McDonald's every morning, ugghh. If you're in Rock Island, you want to live "above the hill" as the property values are much higher and below the hill is generally not as safe. The hill is also home to Trinity Hospitals and Clinics, and I would like to situate "Java on the Hill" near the entrance to the hospital on the main street that runs through the city. I have found a small paved lot to put the coffee shop on, and the lot already has 2 entrances to allow for the smooth flow of drive-thru traffic. I managed a very successful coffee shop for 3 years while I was in nursing school becoming an RN. I have worked in customer service positions for over 25 years and I have started several other small businesses throughout the years, but owning a coffee shop has always been my dream. I love dealing with the public and I believe that "Java on the Hill" will be a great assest to my community!
