Myth LLC is a company that will strive to solve the problems that is currently threatening our planet, We strive to bring balance and awareness to people about what is going on and what we can to fix it. Myth LLC will be a environmentally friendly company and will operate on 90% post consumer waste and use sustainable resources only, we plan to implement plans to increase recycling and conservation and greatly decrease the amount of waste that goes into landfills. We plan to have a foot into every industry that brings waste to the environment and cause harm.
We. have decided to set our sights for one industry and that is the Pulp and paper industry, which currently is solely reliant on trees. Selvan is the name of the paper Company.
Selvan is going to be a company that will redesign the plant. Imagine a company that will use Bamboo, Bagasse, Wheat, Kenaf, Agricultural waste, and hemp for items reliant on trees. As you can see there are many alternatives than using trees. The “World consumption of paper has grown 400 percent in the last 40 years. Now nearly 4 billion trees or 35 percent of the total trees cut around the world are used in paper industries on every continent”. (Sep 10, 2011), Now I understand that these static were taken back in 2011, but with the population and the introduction of new business, as well as the advancements of new technology this number has had to almost double. When looking at this statement coming from google pay close attention to when it says “Now nearly 4 billion trees or 35 percent of the total trees cut around the world are used in paper industries” that’s just the paper industry not including other industries that trees are used for. A more recent experiment was found on Time Magazine website. Stating “Now, new research published in the journal Nature suggests the world is home to more than 3 trillion trees. Humans throughout history have played a key role in determining the number of living trees, researchers note. People cut down 15 billion trees each year and the global tree count has fallen by 46% since the beginning of human civilization. Previous estimates, collected by satellite imaging, suggested that just over 400 billion trees live around the world. Thomas Crowther, a Yale University researcher who lead the study, and his co-authors looked at more than 400,000 measurements collected from sites on the ground on six continents to derive a more accurate figure.” (Time Magazine, Justin Worland) With numbers like this there has to be a change and we need to act now to make that change. I’m proposing we use my company as the stepping stool to get close to a more sustainable source than trees for our former “wood Reliant industries” The overall goal of this company is to use the plants stated in the beginning as the new trees. Selvan is going to be one of the few company out there that is going to have a line of products that are far more sustainable than the tradition way.
