Thoughts of opening a furniture store in Vicksburg, MS that sells top brand furniture as the leading stores in other areas. I currently manage and operate a Furniture store in the Ridgeland / Jackson, MS area under another owner and desire to branch out and start my own journey. There is very limited to no variety and this would benefit the Vicksburg city greatly. Aside from the RTO (Rent To Own) places that are limited to what they can and can not sell in their stores to the public, Vicksburg has nothing to offer the people that live in or around the area when it comes down to home furnishings. They are forced to drive to drive to Louisiana or to the Jackson area to shop. If they are just interested in browsing, that make it a wasted trip and use of fuel to window shop. The know how, workmanship, and passion is all in place, just not the funds. A location selling top brands such as Ashley, Coaster, Crown Mark, Furniture of American, Southern Motion and much more like the big stores like Miskellys at a lower cost and less overhead is just what the people of Vicksburg need. I enjoy what I do, but it's nothing wrong with having your own. We, in my current employer/position currently get a great deal of foot traffic from Vicksburg here in Jackson. Some choose to pick up, some are okay with paying the delivery fee, which is a little higher than normal due to the distance. I think this would be a great fit and investment for area. It provides something that requires less drive time, a variety of choices, and a one stop shop for everyone.
