I started Turtle Wood Enterprises in 2008 after doing the same sort of duties for another company. When that company decided to relocate, I decided to take over a portion of what we were doing in the line of manufacturing furniture components. I have been making furniture as a hobby for over 15 years so this seemed like the opportunity to go it on my own. I continued to manufacture components for another company and also started to develope my own brand of Furniture just in case this other company had troubles so I wouldn't be stuck. It happened sooner than I had anticipated so now I am on my own setting out to Market a product that is going to go places. I develop and build High End Outdoor Furniture from Western Red Cedar. I have had the opportunity to see what the down fall was with other styles and came up with a very appealing design. I have put everything I had into this venture and with just a bit of help from our local Economic Developement I was able to purchase a few needed tools. I didn't budget for the ammount of advertising and marketing that is needed to go the extra mile in my case. I have done really well locally and am starting to do well in Thunder Bay. I have an outlet at a High End Furniture Store that loves to sell my Products. My intention is to get into the Southern Ontario market and also into the States. We have been able to produce up to 50 Pieces of Furniture in a week but can do more if we get the (URL removed)h a bit of Financial assistance I know this will take off.
