We are seeking start-up funding to open a teen fitness center in Northern California. It is common knowledge that the children now are not active enough and therefore overweight and many have health issues related to obesity. By 2010 it is stated that 20% of US children will be diagnosed as obese. In addition, few existing traditional gyms allow children under the age of 16 to participate. We (a women owned business) desire to start a teen fitness center where youth feel welcome, comfortable, and will take various fitness classes, have video and virtual reality physical fitness machines (WII, virtual reality bikes, Dance Revolution), a rock climbing wall, nutrition classes, and academic tutoring among other things.
