The function of SteelCo. is to make housing affordable by producing steel frame, panelized and modular structures, using a building system that can be easily produced and erected and requires only a short training period for those with no prior construction skills. The idea is to keep it simple.
The target market is the U.S affordable home market, commercial market and low cost homes for developing countries. Affordable housing in industrialized nations desperately need to be addressed. Over 100 million homes are needed today in developing countries and if the UN’s prediction is correct that the population will double, then within the next 40 years there will be a need for 1 billion new homes.
