My name is Karen Crever, President and Founder of Scalp & Skin Works, Inc. Seven years ago I developed SCALP SYSTEMS, a holistic yet technologically advanced wellness program designed to restore health and hygiene to the scalp. Scalp & Skin Works is geared toward advanced industry education and training of new services regarding the significant benefit of healthy scalp environments. SCALP SYSTEMS is based upon Bionomics; a branch of biology concerned with the relations between organisms and their environment.
SCALP SYSTEMS expands upon the knowledge and practices of scalp biology, as the first comprehensive cleansing system that facilitates optimal scalp health. Similar to facial services, we incorporate specific products and procedures which therapeutically cleanses the scalp and inhibits invasive organisms. Completing the system, a 300X power magnification camera scope, which attaches to flat screen TV, laptop or monitor, providing accurate evaluation before and after each treatment, allowing documentation as treatments progress.
In a broader sense, SCALP SYSTEMS creates new service categories in the Cosmetology Industry with innovative scalp wellness services and products answering an enormous unmet need. Dermatologists are medical doctors and do not offer such personal services; Trichology, the science of the hair and scalp, requires two to four years of additional medically focused education, yet continues to lack recognition or accreditation. Consequently, millions of consumer dollars are spent each year on shampoos, conditioners, topical agents and prescription creams that have little or no effect. Cosmetologists are often the first resource the public relies upon in regards to their hair and scalp needs. As experts in the field, it is our professional obligation to advance industry standards of education to include these practices.
SCALP SYSTEMS is the intermediate solution, bridging medical science and service applications, falling neatly within the boundaries of Cosmetology Science. SCALP SYSTEMS provides an exciting list of new services, offering beneficial treatments which accommodates the majority of hair and scalp types. As a weekly rehabilitation service, clients are able to control many dandruff like conditions before serious outbreaks occur. As routine monthly service, clients have continually stated, "The scrub feels fantastic". "My scalp has never felt so clean". And additionally, though not strongly promoted, hair growth is the natural by product of healthier scalp environments.
SCALP SYSTEMS establishes new categories, services and products within the Cosmetology industry, providing non-medical solutions for a target market waiting for service. It is our goal to bring "Skin care for the scalp" to the consumer via accredited beauty schools, colleges and other advanced education facilities.
