Our specialty pet retail store has a concrete business advantage over our competitors - we are a full line dog & cat store with self-service pet wash rooms. We are located in a master planned community 3,200+ homes and growing. We are owner-operated (currently). We are operating at approx 1/3 volume of our revenue projections resulting in a negative cash flow. We're seeking investor funds for growth into two key markets that our competitors have not yet tapped into: 1)Online shopping/delivery service; 2)Pet Butler service (home pet waste removal).
Also, there is a vet office going in next door to us scheduled to open early 2009. We're confident we will see a boost in traffic that is specifically our target consumer.
It is a tough year to start a business. We need access to working capital to meet our OH obligations based on our actual revenue for about 1 year - enough time for the vet to establish a client base and enough time for us to gain a foothold in the market in our neighborhood and within a 3-mile radius. Prime target demographics, what happened? Just may have misjudged the depth of the market (4 independents, 3 box discount stores, 1 feed store, 5 supermarkets) in our City of pop. 26,000. Need more time & capital to carve out our piece.
