Top of Tha World Entertainment, LLC started in 2006 after my stint as a recording artist, where I obtained my own label deal. I saw a need to extend my services as a manager to artists that were young developing and aspiring to get into the music business. I remembered my difficulties in obtaining my deal and I wanted to use my knowledge and relationships to guide these up and coming artists. In addition, I pledged to help established artists through some of the pitfalls, they faced in this industry.
As a company, we were offered a deal from Sony Music by Senior Vice President of A&R Dino Delvaille, whom was responsible for the 30 Million Dollar signing of Cash Money Records to Universal Music group. Due to legal interference, our deal fell by the way side. It was unfortunate, but I learned a valuable business lesson to handle my deals personally, and then bring in legal to close the deals.
During this time, I signed underground female rap star Sonja Blade who had a deal with Virgin Records.
At this time, I decided to take a job that was offered to me by the United Nations While still focusing on the development and managerial need of the artists that were signed to my company. We still were developing as well as writing new music, that we distributed and exploited through the ever-changing technology and consumer music base. At this point in time we’re working with several new artists that fit right in to this new generation of artists that live in the social media and technology world.
