Description: My wife and I would like to start a business that is currently not is our area. We would like to open an indoor rock climbing gym in central New York. They are all over the state from Albany, Schenectady, Rochester, Buffalo. There is nothing to service the Utica, Rome and Syracuse area. Have you ever been to a rock gym? They are very fun for all ages, great exercise, and a feel of accomplishment when you reach the top. There are many ways to challenge your self, and a full day of excitement. I have done my research and the hardest part about starting my business is finding the funding. Banks are not willing to lend out the amount needed to start my gym. I have spoken to the leading rock gym building in the north east, Rockwerx out of Massachusetts and they have explained the whole process to me. Rockwerx provides all the services needed to start the gym from consulting, design and engineering to providing the equipment needed to run the gym. They have helped many people open gyms all over the U.S. and they said only one gym did not make it out of all they have helped. I was told that that was the only gym that did not use there business plan. Through all there experience they have come up with an average start-up cost ranges between $400,000 - $600,000.
