Description:
It's a social networking site for reptile owners and lovers. They can interact, add pictures, videos, create blogs and forums, send messages, chat, and add friends. There is a business membership for breeders that is $4.99/mo. These members get a link to their site and a brief description on a special page as well as get email blasts sent to all members. Since starting the site in April I have acquired 438 members and get roughly 150 visits a day which have accumulated to over 100,000 page views. I currently use Google Adsense for advertising on my site. But it has not yet been profitable. My goal is to reach 500,000 members and 150,000 page views a day within 1 year of funding, and 1.5 million members and 1 million page views a day within 3 years of funding.
As you know social networking is huge and shows no signs of slowing down. While Facebook is dominating the market there is still money to be made with niche markets. I believe the reptile market could be huge. While it would be impossible to nail down exactly how many people own reptiles, it is surely somewhere in the millions in the U.S. alone. To get even 25% of those as members would mean an extremely profitable website. I am looking for funding between the range of $10,000 and $75,000. The money will be used for advertising/marketing in my local market and surrounding areas, and if enough money is collected then I will have the site professionally built as well as do all the hosting. I am willing to create a partnership and give up to 20% of future revenue to an investor. Percentage will depend on amount of money invested.
