Description:
Athletus is a location-based social network for active individuals. Our main purpose is to allow users to crowdsource workout partners and activities, such as pickup games and group training events, all the while creating a profitable company through targeted advertising, user data sales, a freemium subscription model, and race/tournament hosting.
Our website is comprised of the popular and familiar elements of a social network (a "Newsfeed" for user-curated posts, sharing, and liking, and "Messages" for reaching out to members of a user's community), as well as those elements that draw athletes (a "Live Activity Map" to show who in your community is playing what when where, "Challenges"--so a user can directly challenge another to a specific goal or activity, and "Stats" to keep track of your reps, weights, and wins/losses).
In time, users will be able to open their app to jump into a pickup soccer game across town, see how many people are playing racquetball at their neighborhood gym, or challenge the most winning basketball player in his/her community.
