Description:
What I am looking to create is a revolution in the way we produce and consume food. I would like start a grocery store that would produce their own vegetables, fruits, etc. in-house using vertical aeroponic growing systems which would use less resources than the typical farm as well as grow produce year-round, under controlled conditions and could be used to grow a large variety of plants. The business could also include aquaculture systems to grow their very own seafood products including many varieties of fish, to shellfish, to eel. An in-house kitchen would also be installed to produce its own products and cook for a cafe/restaurant. The store would also would ship in beef, poultry, etc. from the closest possible farms in order to reduce carbon emissions from shipping in order to be more "Green". The buildings could also be built to be carbon-neutral to eliminate utility bills. These businesses could also be franchised in order to sustain different areas of the country. Grocers have failed to bring the farm to their stores and with new farming techniques, it is time to do just that.
