My name is John McDermott and I live in Royal Oak, Michigan. I have an invention in the HVAC field that is now in the patent pending stage. The invention is completely passive and replaces a conventional system. A patent search was completed before money for the patent was committed. A market analysis was also completed by a well known university and the results indicated the invention was both marketable and profitable. Due to nondisclosure agreements I cannot be more specific.
With five to ten million (my estimate) units installed yearly and a profit of, say, one to five dollars each, would yield a five to fifty million dollar profit per year for twenty years. This could result in a one hundred million to one billion dollar total profit. With this in mind I am asking for an investment of $200,000.00 US for:
prototypes to be built;
testing by a company such as Underwriters Lab;
the results submitted to Energy Star for approval;
a small fuel efficient car to accomplish the above;
and, if approved by Energy Star, contacting senators and congressmen to, hopefully, make the invention mandatory.
The payback would be:
first $12,500 - repay the patent search, market analysis and patent application;
next $125,000 - $25,000 (20%) to others, $100,000 to repay this investment;
next $875,000 - $175,000 (20%) to others and $700,000 to me;
after that 20% to others, 10% to investor.
