Intervention Instruction Incorporated (III) is Illinois oldest and must continuous provider of education for driving under the influence (DUI) offenders. Founded by Monsignor Ignatius McDermott and Sister Patricia Kilbane in 1979, it has since intervened with more than 40,000 clients to meet sentencing requirements through remedial alcohol and drug education.
Today the organization remains fully licensed, often recommended and highly effective through it's proven program of risk education. In a study funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Intervention Instruction documented a recidivism rate of less than 5% meaning more than 95% of clients who completed intervention programs successfully avoided another DUI conviction.
Based on Intervention Instruction's proven effectiveness in risk education for over 30 years with over 40,000 clients. III has licensed and created the first and only distance learning, web-based program for persons mandated to participate in Risk Education in (URL removed) new distance learning program offers a robust and enhanced version of the current curriculum of onsite classes. It allows clients to enhance learning by putting review and additional resource material at their fingertips. Since launching DUI Class Online in 2004, more than 4,500 offenders have successfully completed the program.
