Mudd Hook is a family owned and operated company, founded in 2007. As are most inventions, our design was created in response to a need – a method to safely install torch lighting on our new home’s elevated deck. Our first home had only ground level outdoor entertaining space - torches, hanging flower pots from shepherd’s hooks, bird feeders – all were enjoyed via in-the-ground installations. Our carefully moved outdoor décor was not suited to our new deck!! Something had to be done!! These ‘extras’ greatly increased our enjoyment of dining outside, entertaining, gardening . . . We were not ready to forego these pleasures!! What we needed was a method to attach our torches to the outside of our deck. Safe, beautiful, functional – our goals in creating our product.
We spent the next six months designing our mounting bracket. Several prototypes were created and discarded. We have arrived upon a design that meets our criteria – safe, beautiful, functional, and flexible – an excellent quality bracket enabling our customers to extend and beautify outside living space.
