Sustainable Green Technologies Inc. (SGT) has a sustainable green way to produce hydrogen. SGT isolated very versatile hydrogen producing microbes. These microbes can use almost any naturally occurring sugars and several alcohols as feedstock. The microorganisms turn this feedstock into bio-hydrogen and other valuable by-products. To characterize the microbes a continuous flow bioreactor was developed and optimized. The next major problem to overcome in bio-hydrogen production was how to increase the hydrogen production rate. This is what separates SGT from our competitors. Our innovative approach has increased the hydrogen evolution rate by over 5 times.
You are most likely asking yourself “so what do I do with all this hydrogen?” We have developed a family of products call the H2NECXT SystemTM (pronounced H two next.) They are distinguished by feedstock type, such as bio-diesel production waste, brewery waste, or paper waste. The H2NECXT SystemTM is coupled with a fuel cell to generate on-site electricity and heat. We will produce hydrogen from waste at less than $3/kg.
