In addition to massive increases in windstorm insurance premiums, the insurance industry has shifted a substantial portion of the windstorm risk onto the backs of the condominium associations. We are introducing changes to the self insurance law that would allow condominium associations to join together to collectively create a “Risk Sharing Trust” that would limit loss recovery to “funds available”.
