Description: In 1998, at the age of 15, I sustained a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in which I died twice. After they brought me back to life I was in a coma for 1 week and paralyzed for a week and a half. I spent 4 weeks in amnesia, a total of 6 weeks in the hospital and upon discharge the doctors gave my parents little hope. They told Mom and Dad that my future looked grim at best. They said I would not be able to keep a job longer than a month or two and college was out of the question. My response was “Okay! You doctors know what you are talking about, you’re probably right but whatever happens I must help other people. If my entire effort amounts to only being able to push carts at Wal-Mart then that’s how I’ll help but I want to help with brain injuries. In fact I want to be a Clinical Neurospychologist.” Time went on and I had what the doctors called a “Miraculous Recovery”. I graduated High school on time in the top ¼ of my class despite missing nearly all of my Sophomore year. I went to college and did very well. Over the course of 4 years I attended 4 schools in 4 states and in 2 countries to earn a B.A. with honors in Psychology although never paid out-of-state tuition. I was accepted to graduate school before being introduced to Primerica Financial Services (PFS) and making the decision to help people now with PFS rather than continue school. I worked with PFS for about 2 years before I was had the inspiration to attend one of Neale Donald Walsch’s seminars. At the seminar I asked Neale how I could get myself into a position in which I could help others with TBI without having a Ph.D.. After my question he gave me a book deal and asked me when it would be done. I said it would take about a year and he told me if I wrote “No Brainer” by Nov. 1, 2008 he would write the foreword and send it to his publisher. I have already completed it and sent in the manuscript on May 1, 2008 now we're just awaiting his response. While writing the book things just started presenting themselves and I was made aware of the vast need for “No Brainer”. There are many books regarding neural trauma but most are about how to live with (rather than totally recover from) the injury and few are authored by the person who lived the injury. I looked at over 700 books and none are about learning from the blessing of TBI but to adapt to the “Permanent Injuries”. I show how life is not about adapting, it’s about living the life we wish to live regardless of what seem to be “external circumstances”. The focus of “No Brainer” is that all one must do is get out of the way, quit thinking as much and start feeling more. The trick to life, as you know, is to decide what you want and not worry about all the little things between here and there. The book gives examples of how everything is possible. Through the text we have let the reader know that any brain injury is really a great thing that gives the one with the injury the opportunity to experience what it is like to live free from Ego. There is a reason why 100% of people with head injuries cannot lie, it’s because the Ego dies. Since it dies only soul, source energy, truth is expressed. The lessons to be learned from anyone without the overwhelming influence of the Ego are priceless. Just imagine what we could do for humanity if we educate just ¼ of the Americans with TBI (150,000 per year) decide to express as they will, ego free! The text asks, “What if we love the injury as a gift instead of trying to medicate the hell into the person who is living it in an attempt to get them back to normal?” Did you know that there are about 300,000 soldiers every year with TBI and an equal amount of US civilians who sustain similar injuries. There are roughly 600,000 Americans annually who sustain brain injuries. The sad part is that the world thinks that a brain injury is permanent. The Recovery Method will start out focused on TBI and soon we’ll tackle many more hurdles like cancer and really anything. Right now it seems like I’m just in the waiting stage. The book should provide the publicity and all I must do now is wait for acceptance and publication I guess. Once I was made aware of the vast need the ideas flowed to me about starting a business called the “Recovery Method” in which we will educate the world how to recover from anything. The great gifts provided by any extreme experience are generally overlooked due to the physical or emotional turmoil that must be endured but we teach that all events should be loved and learned from as much as possible. Take every event as a chance to grow. The time for a book and business like this has never been greater. I've established a literary agent for the book and contacted a patent attorney because I would like "The Recovery Method" patented before I share it with the world. It's gotten to the point where we could use some financial backing in order to expedite the process. The world needs what I have to offer and money is the only thing that is preventing me from sharing it with the world.
