I am in the development phase of a photography business. I am currently hoping to fill a niche by being an affordable in-home candid and posed portrait photographer specializing in infants and children. My base market would be young families who are interested in professional photography for their children, but who do not have the income level to invest in high cost photography studios. I do currently have a film camera, but cost for film purchase & development is prohibitive for the "affordable" aspect of the business I am hoping to create. Therefore, any startup funds would immediately go toward a digital camera and flash unit (such that it could easily be expanded as profits grew), simple bookkeeping/customer service software and marketing materials.
