Description: Woodlane has a slate of modestly budgeted films in the post-script development stages and is in need of production capital. First up is THE HOUR TRAP, a science fiction thriller set in the near future, and THE PILOTS' LOUNGE, a drama-comedy to be produced later based on the 2004 short film subtitled "Pilot Error." In the interim, plans are to partner with producer Nick D'Castro to co-produce his award-winning comedy "Director's Cut." All cast and crew will be contract workers. In a broader sense, we join the effort to strengthen Florida's film industry by beginning to build a financial infrastructure of willing investors to support locally-produced productions by local filmmakers. The completion of even our modestly budgeted first productions will hopefully boost the confidence of other filmmakers and allow us to lead by example. While others count only on attracting outside productions to the state, we believe some autonomy on the part of OUR filmmakers, particularly those coming out of film schools like Full Sail and public universities, is crucial to sustaining any industry growth begun with the sort of government tax incentives being sought now. In fact, those incentives are allegedly meant to help the very local filmmakers that really haven't the money to spend to even take advantage of said incentives, which will invariably be gobbled up by one or two outside productions that boost the local economy, but employ relatively few filmmaking professionals in this state.
