Brief History. I researched the tanning salon business from 1999 until 2003 when I decided to open my first salon. I opened in April of 03 and within 2 weeks I broke even. My tanning salon was successful. I made the decision to sell the tanning salon in 2006 to open in a more populated demographic location with the thoughts if I was able to be this successful in this location I would be very profitable in a high traffic area. Once sold my father in which refinanced his home to secure my capital had a heart attack and needed money to keep his home and pay his bills. Slowly I watched as my capital diminished until their was not enough worth risking the start of a new salon.
About me, I am 34 and been a business owner for most of my adult life. I owned a computer store and currently own a DJ Company. My knowledge is in the tanning business since I have studied this industry for over 8 years now and I understand the winning formula for success. I need an investor that understands that the tanning salon business will strive regardless of a failing economy because young girls and women will always spend money on their appearance. My five year plan is to begin franchising licensing and supercede sales of those like Hollywood Tans and Planet Beach.
