Kansas City Reptile Distributors was started in November of 2003. We operated out of our home here in Kansas City, Kansas as a wholesale/On-line retail business that sold and brokered recently imported as well as captive bred reptiles and amphibians to collectors, pet stores, and breeder investors all over the US. In 2007 we took a leap and opened a walk-in business (Pet Store) here in Kansas City and have run the business out of the store for the last year. As our store has continued to grow, we are noticing a great need that affects not only our business but also all of the surrounding pet stores and private breeders. Here in Kansas City, there is a great need for a local wholesale mid-scale breeder of feeder rodents such as rats, mice, and other prey items. We have done a great deal of research over the last several months and have found that a business to do just this here in metro area would have a start up cost of approximately $150,000. This would provide everything needed including a building to operate this business. Unfortunately we don't have the capital to get this business off the ground but we do have the head knowledge of the business and what it takes to operate such a business. We are looking for a small group of investors that are interested in investing in such a business that in a worst case scenario would be debt free at the latest 24 months, and as soon as 18 months.
