Green Drinks Charleston is a monthly gathering (as well as a database) of sustainable businesses, community initiatives, events, and ideas in the Charleston, SC market. The mission here, as with the 460+ Green Drinks chapters around the globe is to bring together those people who are both living and practicing the principles of sustainability and those seeking to learn more. Our crowd frequently changes and meeting topics are often suggested by our members.
We organized locally in 2006 and are proud to be the first chapter in South Carolina. Our chapter is now embraced by over 800 members, 125+ businesses - and we work closely with many Charleston-based NPOs including environmental, educational, and civic. There is no cost to be a member or attend our monthly meetings, however, our supporting businesses are the monetary driver to our group.
Our next goal is to take the entire movement online and facilitate the sharing of resources. A large number of people in South Carolina are interested in sustainability and support our gatherings and special events, attend our lectures and discussions, and seek ongoing involvement. The key now is to build our business supporters into a force for good, establish a steering committee, select additional projects and finalize new guest speakers on a variety of topics while design our online presence.
Our concept is unique and there is nothing like it in SOuth Carolina.
