I own a retail Triathlon sporting goods store in Parker Colorado (a suburb of Denver) I opened April 5, and the store has been self sustaining every month. I am the only store in the south denver area, so competition is mimimal at best. My store was featured in a nation wide bicycle publication re-enforcing my ideas are sound. The growth of the sport has been in double digits for the past few years when it was introduced into the olympic games in Sydney 2000. We have developed a loyal client base, and are tied in with all of the race promotors in colorado. We underestimated the popularity of the store and want to expand, we currently only sell clothing and bike equipment, but we want to sell actual Triathlon specific bikes as well. we have empty suites on either side of our current store that would expand us from 2000 sq/ft to approx. 4000 sq/ft.
