EndoSphere is developing endoscopically implantable devices for weight-loss. Led by Dr. Kenneth Binmoeller, a leading gastroenterologist, and James McKinley, a serial entrepreneur, the Company has completed its feasibility trial of eleven patients. All patients were treated safely and all patients lost weight. Average procedure times for implantation and removal of the devices were 11 minutes and 4 minutes, respectively. This is an out-patient procedure that can be done safely in a physician's office. Next steps include treatment in controlled trials of 150 patients, attainment of CE mark and European launch.
