The problem is, with the high cost of technology, physicians and other associated costs that go into service delivery, diagnostic imaging procedures can be quite costly whether a patient has insurance or not.
Although diagnostic imaging is readily available in most geographies in the United States, many without insurance, and even some of those with insurance, cannot afford the costs of diagnostic imaging that could be so critical in diagnosing problems. In the United States, costs for these procedures far exceed the cost in other countries. The new health care law, which does bring millions more covered lives into the healthcare arena, does nothing to address costs.
