I would like to open a cupcake shop in the Kennesaw,GA area one block from a University and Mall. Currently there is not an existing cupcake shop or bakery in this high traffic area. I feel it is an excellent target area for the first of many Holly Bell Cupcakes. I would eventually like to franchise the business.
My mother owned and operated a retail floral and event business for 15 plus years which I worked in for many years as a teenager and in my early 20s I feel with her help and your funding I could be extremely successful in this endeavor.
Due to the economy, loans for business are hard to secure. I am 26 years old and this would be a start up business for me. Even with the slow economy the cupcake business is hot and I cannot think of a better area than one that has both
offices, retail and a university for a start up of this kind.
I would like to have a fun and funky shop, offering seating where people could linger with coffee, their favorite desserts, cupcakes, cookies and self serve yogurt machines. We would also offer wedding and birthday cakes which would create quiet a bit of additional income. Wedding cakes in this area are normally priced in the $250.00 to $ 1,000.00 Depending upon size. Fondant birthday or celebration cakes begin in the $ 75 - $ 125 range.
In addition, we would like to secure enough space that we could have a room to do childrens tea parties for birthdays. We would provide Boas, fancy hats and jewelry for the children to wear during the party which of course would be for sale as well should the child grow too attached to return it after the party.
Kennesaw, Georgia, is a thriving growing area north of Atlanta and located on two sides of a major interstate, (URL removed) is bordered by 4 additional towns about the same size. All 5 towns continue to grow at incredible rates.
I am extremely organized and creative. I work for the largest orthopedic group in the state of Georgia and have acquired a great deal of knowledge regarding business from my administrative position. I look forward to building a profitable business model and hope to franchise within three years.
