Autosense Manufactures and markets Breath Analysis Ignition Interlock Devices (BAIID) to prevent drunk driving. Our product the "Alco-Lock" has a proven track record of accuracy and reliablity to meet federal (NHTSA) and various state regulations.
Currently the market for the BAIIDs stems from court orders for persons convicted for driving under the influence, DUIs. The demand for BAIIDs is expected to increase 10 to 15 times starting January 2,2009 due to mandatory BAIID laws going into effect in about 20 states in the US, as a direct result of the 2006 MADD Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving. A federal legislation is likely after the new president takes office. International markets are also rapidly developing based on the positive US experience with BAIIDs. Autosense has the experienced management team, proprietary knowhow, expanding service network, strategic alliances etc. to cater to this emerging large market and become profitable within six months. Autosense envisions drunk driving prevention technology becoming a consumer product (parents of teen age drivers, commercial transport etc.) in the near term and within 5 years it becoming a standard factory installation on all new automobiles similar to the air-bags.
Further the Alco-Lock helps save lives and prevents injuries from automobile accidents. And its increased use will have a dramatic impact in reducing the national health care and disabled care costs. In 2007 drunk driving accidents in the US resulted in over 17 000 deaths and 500,000+ injuries with an ecnomic impact of over $120.0 billion.
