Description:
Changing the women's high-heel shoe manufacturing landscape is big -- really big! I love men, but for the past 100 years, they've done a horrible job of creating beautiful high-heel shoes AND making them walk-able for more than 60 minutes. Athletic footwear has had millions of dollars invested in new materials and innovation, while the high-heel shoe is still made the same way it was in 1930, and yet women in the US alone spend over $5B every year on them. Spain, Italy, UK, and Turkey successfully manufacture high-heels with some local designers getting $1000/pair and they are relatively unknown world-wide. Ginger+Sage Shoes will be manufactured here in Las Vegas with the new patented technology built into them, which will bring the world's first high-fashion+high-comfort high-heel shoe. The factory will be monetized in more than one way -
1) G+S operations/manufacturing; 2) Stateside design and sample services (for the hundreds of footwear students I've met along my journey who don't want to deal with language barriers to make tech-paks, drawings, etc.); and 3) as a footwear education supplement program to the current US footwear programs at F.I.T., Parsons, FIDM, Pensole and other US Universities. There are currently no firsthand factory or machinery education parts for any of the programs and typically they send their students overseas to get it at about $2500-$5000 per student for 3-6 weeks. I've found two essential team members who have very specific specialties as it relates to footwear manufacturing and specifically to my invention (ask me about that story - it's good).
