Merger Mines Corporation, in business since 1929, is a precious metals mine property acquisition company, and recently, a developer of kW power fiber laser based mining devices particularly suited for narrow vein geologic structures, particularly in existing mines with proven narrow vein structures. This device is a remotely controlled replacement for conventional "blast and muck" mining operations. The principle is "Thermal Fracturing of Rock" and has been thoroughly researched for the Oil and Gas Industries by Argonne Natl Labs and other entities. The principle is currently in use in those industries, but has never been used in mining. Merger has assembled a team of engineers, physicists, metallurgists and mining engineers to develop this product.
