Development of a mobile application, initially for Android OS and iPhone’s, that will allow users to deter unwanted calls from telemarketers, bill collectors and known individuals. The application will provide a user friendly interface where mobile smartphone users can easily indicate which numbers to deter before the call rings on their device. Users can easily select a number directly from their call log, enter the area code only i.e. 888, 212, 561 etc., enter area code plus prefix and make the remaining numbers wild characters. The application will also come with a live database of known national numbers to block.
The application can be deployed on a global scale with 4.6 billion cell phone users in 2010 (International Telecommunication Union) and 285,610,580 users in the US, but primary focus will initially be US sales with phase 2 sales in Europe.
With the economic crisis continuing on with no end in sight the application would be attractive to consumers who are continually being harassed by bill collectors
