NanoDetection Technology (NDT) has developed an integrated biosensor chip designed to greatly decrease the cost and complexity of medical diagnostic equipment while increasing its sensitivity. This patented technology was devised at Oak Ridge National Labs. NDT holds the exclusive, worldwide rights to commercialize these patents. This is a platform technology which can be utilized for human diagnostics as well as for veterinary and agricultural purposes. Due to the market size and opportunity NDT has chosen to enter the human in vitro diagnostic (IVD) market for its initial product line. The first human IVD product we are developing is a test for Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, commonly known as MRSA. The NDT MRSA test currently under development will provide similar sensitivity and time-to-results as DNA based tests but with 90% lower equipment costs and 50% of the reagent costs plus it is considerably less complex to perform for lab personnel. NDT currently has three early stage prototype detectors plus chemistry reagents. The NDT management team (CEO, CFO, operations, R&D, regulatory) has successful experience with medical device start-ups from raising capital through asset sale to a large public company.
