In the topical/temperate zones, the sun effectively moves in azimuth through an arc of 100 to 180 degrees each day. Solar collectors are at peak efficiency only when the incoming solar rays are at right angles to the fixed plane in which the collectors are mounted. I think that I can create that right-angle effect for at least six hours each day, using no powered mechanism.
