It has a VGA input for high-resolution video from your external PC, and it fits into any standard double-din mount! The front bezel is also non-motorized, unlike other double-din VGA monitors. The patented non-motorized design is much more robust than those with nylon gears that wear out over time. All of the options and settings in the CT650A are programmable over the USB connection. You can change the function of the external I/O lines, change the backlight color for the 8 pushbuttons, or even adjust the brightness of the LCD panel! The monitor has an optional password after reset feature that requires a password for the monitor to function after it has been disconnected. The 8 I/O lines on the back of the unit can be programmed as IGN sense wires to turn your monitor on with your vehicle, they can turn your external amplifier on and off, or even control the IGN wire to your PC, allowing you to keep the PC powered on after you turn your vehicle off, all with the touch of a button on the CT650A! There are 8 backlit push buttons on the CT650A that can be used to send keystrokes to your media/navigation application, turn the volume up or down, control the I/O lines, and more! And best of all, the firmware is fully upgradeable over the USB connection. Carputer Technologies Inc. will offer a Windows-based firmware upgrade application that will automatically match any available firmware with your specific model, download it from our website, and upload it to your CT650A.
