Eagle Theatre Inc. is the only Year-Round Professional Actor's Equity Theatre in Southern New Jersey. 2 hours from New York City, 25 minutes from Atlantic City and 30 minutes from Philadelphia, our rural, cultural setting is in the perfect location.
We have experienced unprecedented growth in the past 2 years (since making the move to a professional theatre). The building is 100 years old and it was revitalized 5 years ago, but it started on it's current path a little over 2 years ago.
In that short time, the Eagle Theatre has joined Actors Equity Association (employing the most professional actors in the Country), joined the Professional New Jersey Theatre Alliance, Theatre Philadelphia, The National Alliance for Musical Theatre and more. In just our first year with Theatre Philadelphia, we are thrilled that every one of our productions has been "Barrymore Award Recommended", Philadelphia's equivalent to NY's Tony Awards. We have also purchased and developed a new Workshop/Executive Offices just blocks away from our theatre.
We were the first arts organization in the country to get a $500,000 Grant and Low Interest Loan package from the USDA. We achieved this by using our creative intelligence while applying for Grants. We recently fundraised for and installed elevated, Riser Seating for our patron base to allow every seat to be "the best seat in the house".
Our sound and lighting system is state of the art.
The Management Team, Board of Directors and Artistic Staff is Top Notch. The energy, drive, passion and fortitude is unrivaled.
The art on stage is the best in the region and the business minds behind it back that up immensely.
The Eagle Theatre is very interested in new and exciting developments, hence the creation of our brand new INNOVATIONS LAB. It is our goal to provide the theatre going audience with new inventions built for the theatre (on the technical side) to enhance their theatrical experience. The ideas are plentiful, funding to begin this is limited.
The Eagle Theatre's dream is to become a springboard for original productions that will ultimately land in New York City, On or Off Broadway. We have developed necessary contacts to begin that process and will present our first new play in 2016.
Everything is in place for the Eagle Theatre to be a force to be reckoned with for years and years to come. All but the funding. We perform very well with ticket sales and are blessed to have some generous private donors. We also launched our underwriting campaign this year and are continually signing advertising partners to create more funding for the theatre and a general partnership with these supporting businesses. We realize that a visit to the Eagle Theatre must be an "experience", not just a night out. We are very tied into the up and coming town of Hammonton and lovely arts district. Hammonton was voted top 3 best Main Streets in the Country this year.
An operation budget to accomplish everything we strive to accomplish without worry is our goal. The Eagle Theatre isn't going anywhere. We have a Board that will not allow it. It's just time to find some others to "jump in" while we are new and exciting to be a part of the greatness we will ultimately continue to succeed!
