Description:
Falling Rocks, LLC was formed to produce the $2 million motion picture project FALLING ROCKS. This action-packed psychological thriller takes place deep in the Arizona desert where six friends on an annual hiking adventure stumble upon a dead parachutist carrying a fortune in uncut diamonds. As they hike back toward civilization, members of the group begin dying under mysterious circumstances. Are they being followed? Or has greed turned one of their own into a bloodthirsty killer?
The producers have secured a commitment for 25% of the budget from Film Financial Services (FFS), a Burbank investment banking firm. FFS has also committed to guarantee worldwide distribution for the film. The project has qualified for an AZ state tax credit program that will yield $342,000 for production. The producers are seeking equity partners to provide the balance of $1,158,000. Credited cast, director, producers and writers attached. The federal Jobs Creation Act of 2004 provides investors the right to deduct 100% of their investment against passive income in the year of production. In some cases, the possibility of taking the deduction against active income also exists. This provision is scheduled to expire on January 1, 2009 so the film must begin principal photography before that date if investors wish to take advantage of the tax savings.
