ECL was founded in 1986 to design and manufacture high quality small elevators specifically for the residential and access market. We started out with 4000 square feet of rented space, and have been growing ever since. Today we make our home in Riveriew, Michigan, with over 16,000 square feet of manufacturing space on almost 3 acres.
Until 1997 ECL was an elevator contractor that also manufactured elevators to order for its own installations. In 1997 ECL sold the service portion of the company In 2001 we developed a business plan to become a manufacturer only by do the following:
* Expand plant size for new production equipment, increased inventory and work in process volume
* Acquire CNC based fabrication equipment and a paint line
* Hire 3 new shop personnel
