Description: I am a freelance commercial cartoonist, illustrator, and writer. I produce artwork and writing for clients who are seeking caricatures and cartoons or copy for advertising, publication illustrations, and personal gifts (retirement gifts, birthday surprises, anniversaries, and other life events. I also do original large format paintings for specific client needs (such as decorations for a family nursery.) I also work as a traveling artist, teaching cartooning and illustration to children of all ages in school, library, and other public venue settings. My most recent venture, for which I am seeking angel investors, is partnering with non-profit organizations to produce children's books that they can use for fund raising purposes (direct sales in gift shops, thank you gifts for contributors, promotional events). I am currently partnering with the South West Wildlife Conservation Center, a Scottsdale-based non-profit that provides homes to abused, abandoned, and injured wildlife such as coyotes, mountain lions, bears, tortoises, wolves, and foxes. My venture with them is described at this crowd-funding link: (URL removed) An angel investor can either fund this or other projects directly, or through the crowd-funding portal. The investor will receive the perks outlined at the Indiegogo site including the opportunity to acquire my services as a traveling artist to teach cartooning and illustration to children at a school or an entire school district of their choice. I'm a retired educator and I hold a master degree in reading instruction so I am well aware of the vocabulary and content requirements for producing books that appeal to parents, teachers, and children.
