The Nantucket Independent (“TNI”) is a free distribution, weekly newspaper which has served the Nantucket Island community since July 1, 2003. TNI is published by The Nantucket Independent, LLC (“LLC”) a Massachusetts limited liability company. Beginning as a paid circulation newspaper, TNI converted to the free distribution, full saturation format with the issue of June 13, 2007. The rational (see Appendix A) was to increase circulation and therefore the newspaper’s attractiveness to advertisers.
