Description:
The Plano Mighty Kings is a new professional Basketball team in the ABA. This is our first season (2017-2018).
The Plano Mighty Kings is determined to make a positive impact on the local Collin County community. We invite you to join us in supporting the community with a professional basketball team for our families and children. The Mighty Kings will launch their first season (2017-2018) this November. We are looking to host at least 10-home games. Games include high-flying, fast-paced action, dance team, cheerleaders, sports announcers, prizes, and other crowd pleasing entertainment in one of "America's finest cities"!
We are looking to raise $50,000 for working capital.
The ABA originally starred such basketball greats as Julius "Dr. J." Irving, Rick Barry, George "Iceman" Gervin, Connie Hawkins, Dan Issel, Bobby Jones, Moses Malone, David "Skywalker" Thompson, Hubie Brown and Larry Brown. The ABA teams of San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers and New Jersey Nets, along with many players merged into the NBA in the mid 70's. The 3-point shot, shot clock and the slam dunk contest all originated in the ABA. The league was resurrected in 2000, playing in college gyms nationwide with their trademark symbol of the red, white and blue ball. The ABA is now America's largest pro league with over 90 teams.
