Description:
The Soap Sisters, LLC was founded in 2009 by sisters Leslie Kocsis and Sandra Siemon. The history of the company began with the need for natural skin care alternatives after Sandra's oncologist recommended such use during and post treatment of cancer. At the advise of her doctor, Sandra purchased natural soap products from local health food stores and quickly discovered that these products could be very costly. Sharing this information with her sister Leslie, the two sisters explored the possibility of producing their own bar soap by attending soap making classes in the area. Success was achieved on their very first attempt and they had plenty of soap for their households for months if not years to come. As Leslie's husband began to use the soap he was impressed with its performance and encouraged the sisters to consider making soap making a business. He set-up an LLC, registered for a sales tax license, wrote a business and marketing plan, purchased a domain name for future website development, and with the help of Sandra's husband developed a logo. The sisters began marketing their soap product at their local farmers market as an offering to customers that stopped by the farmers booth that the two of them worked for. Soap sales began to happen, and soon they were making body lotion, face and eye cremes, and lip balms. In 2010, Leslie's husband was laid-off from his consulting position with a marketing firm and began to take a more aggressive approach to marketing the products. Successfully the products began to be sold at four different venues including their local farmers market. Today, The Soap Sisters is a self supporting business to which all revenue produced goes back into purchasing more soap making raw products and paying for booth space at various craft shows and other alike. With its current operation, the business should begin to pay the ownership dividends soon. The wish for The Soap Sisters is to find an investor(s) to help grow the operation to the level of higher volume and increased profitability. In order to grow the company to the desired level of success, the company is in need of increased operating capitol to which the sisters do not currently have at their disposal. The drive and product line is there and solid, we just need capitol.
