Youth will be encouraged to stay in school, graduate and attend college. At lease 15% will develop a busines plan to start their own business from our program.
1. We will recruit 100 minority youth ages 12 to 17 who are at-risk of school failure, (i.e., base on poor attendance, test scores, referrals to principal office) from the Oak Cliff/South Dallas poorest communities of the city of Dallas, to participate by meeting with mentors in a 1to1 or group sessions of 4 to 1, three days per week from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for 52 weeks.
2. We will utilize both the Junior Achievement and Entrepreneurship 52 week curriculums with their weekly lessons on how to run a business from capitalization to liquidation.
3. We will purchase chain jewelry at wholesale close out prices by the pallet, for each youth in teams of two to sell at mark-up prices. Jewelry will be divided into 13 Sample Jewelry Sales Kits containing 32 elegant chains in either gold or silver, 18 matching bracelets and 18 anklets, plus a catalog form for securing orders. Our wholesale cost to purchase the jewelry for each kits is $191.00. Each chain will sell for $29 each, the bracelets or anklets would sell from $9 to a minimal to $29 each. Estimated profit is $802 per Jewelry Kit or a total of $10,426 for the 13 kits, a profit of $9,624 from each kit.
The Gallop Poll found nearly 7 out of 10 youth ages 14-19 were interested in becoming entrepreneurs. Our top jewelry salesperson will be awared with a $500 grant to start-up their own small business.
*Students will improve in their reading and math skills through the use of the Neo Laptop Computers Reading and Math Softwear, which will encourage them to stay in school, graduate and become positive members of society.

IRS allows you to save $$$ for donating to a nonprofit organization. An example, a donor who is in the top tax bracket may give $10,000 would receive additional $860 more in tax saving under this tax law. Or if you were a person who is in the 39.6% tax bracket and donated a gift of $6,040. You would receive a 100% tax refund for your donation. The investment is worth the tax saving. Think about the difference that Successful Students Mentoring Program is making in the lives of at-risk low income youth of Oak Cliff/South Dallas community with job skills.
We feel its our responsibiity as a nonprofit organization that educate inner-city youth to allow others such as yourself, the opportunity to share in our success by giving back to society, for at-risk youth to learn employable skills. In addition, for your generous support, if allowed, we would be happy to place your name on our Hall of Fame Plaque for all to see of your generous support.
